U.S Ski Resorts, especially those in Colorado, are rapidly becoming just as popular with the vacationing public as the quintessential beach resorts. True the ski resorts will always be know for that which they do best, winter sports, but many are diversifying for the slow summer season, namely they are installing golf courses, major golf courses designed by the biggest names in the industry. RockResorts, Vail, for instance boast of six championship courses between the five resorts. The RockResorts courses were designed by Tom Fazio, Greg Norman, Robert Trent Jones and Hurdzan-Fry. Obviously, the commitment of these major ski resorts to make changes is huge. And that’s why so many vacationers, domestic and foreign, are winging their way northward, not only for the winter season, but for the spring, summer and fall as well. So, with that in mind, here’s a short list of some major ski resorts that will accommodate you for the warmer seasons, golf and all.

Vail, Colorado, is one of the most popular, and probably the best know, ski destinations in the United States. With five major resorts boasting more than 500 ski trails and paths, along with a dozen golf courses, many of which are open for play by resort guests, Vail is now a year-round vacation destination.

Breckinridge, Colorado, is a Rocky Mountain Resort village with slightly more that 2358 acres featuring 115 snow paths or trails. The longest trail is 3.5 miles of the length and there are more than 10 peaks around the resort. Breckenridge is great for skiing in winter, and for hiking, biking and golfing during the off season. Some 36% of the slopes are rated expert, and around 13% is for the beginners, the rest of trails are vary in difficulty.
Aspen, Colorado, like Breckenridge is situated in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The Aspen Mountain Ski Resort is one of Aspen’s best places stay. The Aspen Mountain ski area is roughly 673 acres and considered one of the area’s smallest ski resorts. The ski area also includes Bell Mountain and the Aspen Mountain which tops out at 11,210 feet.
Killington, Vermont, is the largest ski resort in the Northeast. It includes Killington Mountain which is the area’s second highest peak. Killington boasts some 200 trails and 35 ski lifts on seven mountains.
Park City, Utah, with more that 3300 acres and 104 trails is considered one of the most popular ski destinations.
