Disney Resort Hotels - Your Pocket Guide to Resorts at Disney World
If you're planning on staying on property at Walt Disney World during your next vacation, you have quite a selection of Disney resort hotels to
consider and they come in variety of price ranges. Hopefully, this quick guide
to the resorts at Disney World will help you as you try and narrow down your
decision.
There are four different categories of resorts at Walt Disney World - value, moderate, deluxe and deluxe villa. The Deluxe villa resorts are actually part of the Disney Vacation Club, Disney's timeshare program, but they also rent condos to non-owners as well. Check here for Resort Hotel Information. The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Pricing for the Value resorts starts under $100 nightly; the moderates start at about $150 and the deluxe start anywhere from $225 to nearly $400 per night for the Grand Floridian. The deluxe villas are all part of the Disney Vacation Club and so they also offer the most spacious accommodations on Disney property. So if you like to spread out, this would be your best bet. You can expect to pay $300 and up nightly for any of the DVC resorts.
There are also some Walt Disney Hotels that are not owned by the Disney company that you might want to consider. The Swan and Dolphin are both located near Hollywood Studios and they are owned by Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Shades of Green is owned by the US Military and is located near Magic Kingdom, but you'll have to be in the armed forces (or retired) in order to stay there. Also, there are seven additional hotels located at Downtown Disney that are on property, but owned by third parties.
While all of these hotels and resorts are not Disney-owned, they share many of the same perks available at the other Disney resorts, such as early entry and exits from a different park each day.
If you spend time at Walt Disney World frequently, you may want to look into the Disney Vacation Club for the best accommodation options at WDW. As a DVC owner, you'll be able to book your home resort 11 months in advance and any other DVC resort 7 months in advance and you'll have plenty of room for the whole family.
