Keystone Lodge Winter Activities are, to say the least, extensive and well-organized. From downhill skiing to snowboarding, snowshoeing to cross-country skiing to ice skating and much more, you’ll never be at a loss for something to do. Even at night, you can enjoy night-skiing, tubing, apres-ski events, relaxing in a hot tub, and fine dining.

Skiing and Snowboarding: Three mountains are available to skiers at Keystone: Dercum Mountain is home to almost a third of Keystone's beginner terrain, which is easily accessible from the front side of the mountain, and more than 70 acres of steep-tree skiing and snowboarding on the backside; North Peak is for skiers and snowboarders of different skill levels - more than half of North Peak is rated difficult to advanced - the Alpenglow Stube and Timber Ridge Food Court at the Outpost are at 11,444 feet; The Outback, Keystone's third mountain, offers intermediate terrain on more than 800 acres for expert skiers and snowboarders. The Outback is some six miles from the base areas
Adventure Passport: As a guest of Keystone Lodge & Spa, you will receive a free Adventure Passport for each person in your group. This passport allows you to access most of the activities at Keystone Resort without charge. During the winter, these activities may include Nordic ski rentals, snowshoe rentals, mountain tours, NASTAR, ice-skating rink admission, scenic sleigh rides, wine tasting, yoga, and more.
Snowshoeing: How about a quiet walk across snow-covered fields or through pine-scented forests? You can rent snowshoes and head out on your own or sign up for one of Keystone's guided tours.
Cross Country Skiing: Keystone's Nordic Center offers 16 kilometers of groomed trails and 57 kilometers of "packed trails" through the White River National Forest. Programs include group and private lessons in classic cross-country skiing and skating techniques, snowshoeing, and telemarking. Signature programs include Nordic Betty Fests, Friday Women's Days, and Full Moon Tours. The Nordic Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tubing: Enjoy the thrill of tubing just like when you were a kid only on a much bigger hill with its own tubing lift. This activity is available during the day or at night for your family, friends, or group. Located at Adventure Point, at the top of Dercum Mountain, tubing is available from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. when night skiing is scheduled. Prices are $22 per adult, $18 for children ages 6 to 12. (36" height requirement) Ticket availability during time slots is limited, so please call 970-496-4FUN in advance.
Note: The Keystone Nordic Center offers old-fashioned tubing—walk up and slide down—without lift access. If needed, tubes can be rented for $13 per hour. (Tubes only, please. Sleds of any kind are prohibited.) Call 970-496-4275 for more information.
Ice Skating: Keystone is home to the largest Zamboni-maintained outdoor skating rink (five full acres) in North America. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., early December through February (weather permitting).Return To Keystone Resort Report
How to Get There:
The best option is to fly into Denver International Airport, then rent a car and drive over to Vail. It should take no more than a couple of hours and the scenery along the way is spectacular.
