Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa Red Course

Wigwam Red Golf CourseThe Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa Red Course was created by Robert "Red" Lawrence, the famed golf course architect responsible for Arizona's first desert golf course. Red is also credited with being involved with the designs of the Merion, Homestead, Westchester, and Desert Forest Golf Clubs. The Red course is old – it opened in 1929 – but even today, Red’s work here at The Wigwam is a perfect compliment for the two Robert Trent Jones courses: the Gold and the Blue.

Not as long as the mighty Gold course, but seemingly way longer than the sneaky little Blue course, the Red offers a real challenge and nicely rounds out the trio. The Red plays alongside rippling streams and around limpid ponds and is set among stands of pine trees, cypress and eucalyptus trees. Play the back tees and the 3 finishing holes “will make you feel like a hero or make you call your pro for a lesson the next day.”

The 18-hole Red course features 6,852 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72.4 and a slope of 126.  Designed by Red Lawrence, ASGCA, the Red golf course opened in 1929. Golf Solutions manages this facility.
