Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa - Gold Golf Course

Wigwam Gold CourseThe Wigwam Golf Resort and Spa Gold Course, at more than 7,400 yards, is the star of the Wigwam golf complex. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. created The Gold to rival the famous South Course at Firestone CC in Akron, Ohio. Among the Gold’s highlights are the 645-yard 4th hole, a par five that will test even the bravest of the long hitters. The 8th is also a Gold course tester: a long par four to an elevated green over a canal. But it’s the finishing stretch for which the Gold is famous. The 16th, a par 3 over water to a split-level green, the 17th, a par 4 to a narrow green across a pond, and then the 18th, ranked as one of the toughest finishing holes in Arizona. At the 18th, a long par four, requires a diagonal tee shot across water. The approach shot is to a green guarded by a canal.

The 18-hole "Gold" course plays almost 7,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.5 and it has a slope rating of 135.  Designed by Robert Trent Jones and renovated by Forrest Richardson, the Gold golf course opened in 2005.

Green Fees: $160 on weekends; $160 on weekdays; $80 twilight fees.
