I've just returned from Paradise, well, my version of it. After spending five days at the Daufuskie Island Resort I'm both exhilarated and worn out. The total isolation and restfulness of the resort restored all my well-being; the drive through Atlanta on the return depleted them all again. Still, Daufuskie is South Carolina's best=kept secret. The golf courses - Melrose and Bloody Point are exceptional (the photoo at left is "Dawn at the 13th on Melrose;" the living, idyllic; the overall sense of being "away from it all," overwhelming. Oh, and yes: they have some great specials running right now.
